The top prep football matchups in the Treasure Valley on Sept. 30 include a meeting of 4A powers Bishop Kelly and Middleton, and Borah puttings its three-game winning streak on the line at Rocky Mountain. Top high school football games Friday Long Beach Poly (10-1) at Encino Crespi (9-1), 7:30 p.m.: Crespi's rushing attack, led by Jalen Starks and T.J. Brumfield, has been so effective that the Celts have passed only 14 times in. Top high school football games for the 2. Here is a list of some of the best high school football games in the 2. Sept. IMG Academy at Mission Viejo H. S. Centennial is 3- 0 in its past appearances at the Honor Bowl, but the Huskies will face one of their toughest games of this or any season at the 2. IMG Academy, from Bradenton, Fla., is among the top- ranked teams in the nation, and its roster features 1.
ESPN. com’s Top 1. Sept. Summit at Miller H. S. San Gorgonio and Summit are not likely to be tested often in the San Andreas League and Sunkist League, respectively, so this non- league matchup will be good for both programs to see where exactly where they stand early in the season. This will be the first time these San Bernardino County programs square off. Sept. JSerra at Saddleback College. The matchup will be the high point of the nonleague schedule for the Broncos, who are ranked No. Cal. Preps. com’s Division 1 preseason ratings, while JSerra is No. This will be a true early test for Vista Murrieta — the only Southern Section Division I game on their schedule — and their prospects for the Southern Section playoffs. Sept. 1. 6Citrus Hill at Rancho Verde. Citrus Hill and Rancho Verde are perennial playoff contenders, but the programs have met on the gridiron only four times. Citrus Hill has won three of those past meeting, including twice last season. The Hawks posted a 2. Week 0 and also pulled out a thrilling 5. Mustangs in the Inland Division quarterfinals. Sept. Redlands East Valley at Citrus Valley H. S. These two area powers both have maintained a streak of dominance in their respective leagues and up until the recent restructuring of the CIF playoff divisions were both Inland Division heavyweights. Heritage appeared in last year's division finals, while REV won the title in 2. It will be their first ever head- to- head meeting. Sept. 1. 6Beaumont at Banning. They’re no longer in the same league, but the War for the Wheel game is one of the oldest and most fierce rivalries in the area. It might be hard to top last year’s game in which Banning ran for 4. Beaumont 5. 1- 4. Sept. 2. 3Murrieta Valley at Oaks Christian. This matchup will be a great measuring stick for the Nighthawks and their vaunted offense, who go on the road to a upper- tier opponent who plays in an impressive venue. Calpreps. com rated Murrieta Valley at No. Division 2 preseason ratings, while Oaks Christian, a returning Pac- 5 Division quarterfinalist last season, is No. Notre Dame at Riverside City College. Don't be fooled by pregame prayer over the loudspeaker. When Notre Dame and Aquinas play each season, there is no love lost on the football field. The two teams have split the last six regular- season games with Notre Dame winning the last three contests. Last November, the two schools met in the CIF- SS Northwest Division semifinals with Notre Dame winning, 3. They might be gentlemen off the field, but Catholics vs. Catholics can be a quite contentious affair. Oct. 7. Redlands East Valley vs. Top High School Football Games In DallasRedlands at University of Redlands. REV has won eight of the last 1. Citrus Belt League rivalry and has outscored the Terriers,1. Redlands' last victory in 2. Scheduling the showdown for two weeks later in the season than last year may be a benefit to the Terriers, who are breaking in more new starters than the Wildcats. Oct. 7. Vista Murrieta at Murrieta Valley“Throw out the records” when these two rivals meet? Well, not exactly, because both teams’ records should be really good when they meet in the opening week of Southwestern League play. Vista Murrieta has won 3. Broncos. But the last team to beat them? Murrieta Valley, 1. Nov. 1. 4Corona at Roosevelt. If you like offense, make sure to circle this game on your calendar. These teams have met nine times, and four of the games have produced at least 8. Roosevelt holds a 6- 3 edge in the series, but Corona defeated the Mustangs, 5. Panthers earn the Big VIII League’s final playoff berth. Oct. 1. 4Calvary Murrieta at Rancho Christian. Calvary Murrieta has dominated the first two seasons of the South Valley League play, but victories over Rancho Christian have not come easy. Two years ago, Calvary built a 1. Last year, Rancho Christian led by three points in the third quarter before allowing two touchdowns in a 2. Calvary win. Oct. Citrus Hill at San Jacinto. If anyone in the Mountain Pass League is closing the gap on perennial champion Citrus Hill, it’s the Tigers. But San Jacinto also appeared close last year, and the Hawks cruised 4. Oct. 2. 1Norte Vista at Ramona. The River Valley League title appears up for grabs this season, and this matchup between defending champion Norte Vista and Ramona will go a long way in deciding the league championship. Ramona nearly pulled off a stunner last season, but Norte Vista’s defense held the Rams scoreless in the second half en route to a 1. Oct. 2. 7Moreno Valley at Rubidoux. The Mountain Valley League title could be on the line in this one, but coaches say they expect the league to be stronger and not just a two- team race. The Vikings are the team to beat, but the league could be more interesting by the time this game kicks off. Oct. 2. 8Centennial at Norco. Norco is the last team to hand Centennial a loss in Big VIII League play, but that win over the Huskies came in 2. Centennial has won 3. Cougars, and that number likely will have increased to 3. Oct. 2. 8Redlands East Valley at Cajon. If there's one CBL game REV has circled on its calendar, it's likely this one. The Cowboys knocked off the Wildcats, 3. REV and hand the Wildcats just their second league loss in the last three years. With many of its top players from last year gone, though, Cajon will face even longer odds in repeating the feat. Oct. 2. 8Notre Dame at Linfield Christian. Last season, the the two schools played for the Ambassador League and CIF- SS Northwest championships. Notre Dame got the best of Linfield Christian both times. Both teams have had to retool their rosters a bit this season, but you can expect that this game will go a long way toward crowning the 2. Ambassador League championship. Nov. 4. Paloma Valley at Heritage. The Wildcats came a touchdown away from upsetting a loaded Patriots squad in last season's battle for the Sunbelt League title. Most of Heritage's key skill players from that win have moved on whereas Paloma Valley brings back most of its standouts along with some new weapons. Heritage has won six consecutive Sunbelt League titles, and extending that streak likely comes down to this game. Nov. 4. Elsinore at Temescal Canyon. It will be hard to top the theatrics of last season, when Temescal Canyon rallied to tie the game late, but Elsinore stole a 2. Any unforeseen stumbles for frontrunners Paloma Valley and Heritage notwithstanding, this game will likely be for third place in league and possibly a playoff berth.
